Washington, D.C. -- Congressman Jason Chaffetz released the following statement today in response to the agreement reached between U.S. wireless carriers and the Federal Communication Commission (FCC):
"This agreement is a partial win for consumers. I applaud Chairman Wheeler and the Commission for their efforts. However, the process that necessitated the FCC having to take action remains heavily flawed. I look forward to working with Chairman Goodlatte to help advance legislation that will remove the threat of felony charges for unlocking a cell phone. As the Committee moves forward with its copyright review process, I am committed to working on the broader issue of ownership in a digital age."
