Issues: Immigration

We have all the laws we need to deal with our illegal immigration issues. Illegal immigration is a result of spotty enforcement, bureaucracy, our backwards tax structure, and too many entitlements. Let's return Georgia to a state of opportunity, not handouts.
- Papers, Please! - We won the Cold War. So why would we allow our government to force us to "show our papers' when peacefully walking down the street? I will fight against any bill that erodes our 4th Amendment right to be left alone when going about our business peacefully.
- Remove Red-Tape Roadblocks to Citizenship -- Our government makes it easier to be an illegal alien than a U.S. Citizen. My wife is originally from Russia. It took her 5 years to become a U.S. Citizen. She has told me of a line forming *around* the INS building a full two hours before it opened. These folks were simply trying to do the right thing by applying for U.S. citizenship, but the process is unnecessarily difficult. Want fewer illegal immigrants? I agree that we should keep our standards high, but we must remove this useless red tape!
- No Free Lunch -- Our tax structure encourages illegal immigrants to remain illegal and off the books. Replacing the income tax with a consumption-based tax means that we will stop supporting those who do not pay income tax. If we reduce government entitlements across the board, those who are not here legally can not benefit from them at the expense of those who are here legally.
- Employment ID Laws -- Hiring decisions should be between an employee and employer, not the government. I will not support any law that increases government intrusion into our businesses.
