U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow, Co-Chair of the bipartisan Senate Manufacturing Caucus, today congratulated Cadillac on the Lansing-made Cadillac CTS being named Motor Trend's 2014 Car of the Year. The CTS is manufactured at the Grand River Assembly Plant in Lansing.

"This announcement is great news and a testament to the skilled workers at GM's Lansing Grand River Assembly plant," said Stabenow. "Our workers here in Michigan are the best in the world, and this award is well-deserved."

The award is the second Car of the Year award for the Cadillac CTS, which also won in 2008. The CTS beat out 21 other cars, including foreign luxury cars, for the award.

GM announced earlier this year that it was investing more than $38 million to expand the Lansing Grand River Assembly plant to increase production capacity. The Lansing Grand River Assembly is also home to the Cadillac ATS, reigning North American Car of the Year.
