Hudson Statement on the 12th Anniversary of the 9/11 Terrorist Attacks

Statement

Date: Sept. 11, 2013
Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Representative Richard Hudson (NC-08) released the following statement on the 12th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks:

"On September 11, 2001, the United States of America was victim to the most horrific terrorist attack in our history--an attack spurred by cowardice and hatred for our way of life. Twelve years later, we remember the innocent lives lost and the sacrifices that were made; we remember the overwhelming feelings of hopelessness and despair; and we remember the heroism and courage of our first responders, bystanders, and fellow citizens who paid the ultimate price for our liberty that fateful day. On this day and every day, my thoughts and prayers remain with those who have lost loved ones in our fight for continued safety and security.

"While we mourn those who perished, we grow stronger in our conviction against those who wish us harm, and we grow stronger in our obligation and duty to honor the brave men and women in uniform who sacrifice for our freedom and safety. On this twelfth anniversary, we stand strong as one nation, unified by resilience, hope, and commitment to defend these United States of America at home and abroad."
