Hartzler Asks to Hear From MO-4 Constituents on Syria

Statement

Date: Sept. 6, 2013
Issues: Defense

Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler (MO-4) is asking constituents of Missouri's Fourth Congressional District to offer their views on possible U.S. military action against Syria.

"Our offices in the Fourth District and in Washington have received hundreds of calls and emails regarding the situation in Syria," said Hartzler. "I have deep reservations about the wisdom of launching an attack. I also have doubts about U.S. interests in the matter."

"Launching military action is one of the most important votes a Member of Congress can make, as it has the potential to put American lives in harm's way," added Hartzler. "That is why I want to hear from citizens of the Fourth District on a special telephone conference call on Syria I will host next week."

The telephone conference call has been scheduled for Monday, September 9th at 7:00pmCT. Citizens interested in taking part and expressing opinions are urged to call 877-228-2184 and enter event ID 18764. It is a free call and provides citizens with a platform to express their views on this serious matter.

Congresswoman Hartzler, a resident of Cass County, serves on the House Armed Services Committee.
