Rep. Tom Rice (SC-07) issued the following statement today regarding the final passage of H.R.1911, the Bipartisan Student Loan Certainty Act of 2013:

"Nearly one month after student loan interest rates doubled and more than eight weeks after the House passed legislation to address this issue, the Democrat-controlled Senate quit playing politics with our students' wallets. I was proud to join my colleagues today and pass the Senate's amended version of our student loan bill.

"Our students are already faced with an uncertain job market and lackluster economy. They simply cannot afford to be burdened with uncertain student loan interest rates too. By putting in place a market-based solution, Congress encouraged American students to pursue their educational goals and career paths of choice."
