Congressman Bill Owens today issued the following statement on the Supreme Court's decision overturning the Defense of Marriage Act.

"Today's decision ensures that all Americans are entitled to the same federal rights no matter whom they choose to marry," Owens said. "I applaud the Supreme Court's decision, which recognizes what New York State already has: that all Americans deserve equal protection under the law."
