Stutzman: "Last Thing Hoosiers Need is Another Energy Roadblock from the White House"

Statement

Date: June 25, 2013
Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Energy

U.S. Congressman Marlin Stutzman issued the following statement today in response to President Obama's latest efforts to impede domestic energy production:

"As the price of everything from gas to health care climbs higher, the last thing Hoosiers need is another energy roadblock from the White House. This Administration has lost touch with the everyday struggles most families face and told the New York Times that "a war on coal is exactly what's needed.' The White House should end its war on energy and work to find real solutions. Hoosiers deserve an all-of-the-above approach where we harness all of our available resources in order to become energy independent."

Background:

This week the House of Representatives will consider H.R. 2231, the Offshore Energy and Jobs Act, which would expand offshore energy production to lower prices, promote job growth, and strengthen U.S. energy security.

Congressman Stutzman represents the 3rd Congressional District of Indiana and serves on the House Committee on Financial Services. Indiana's 3rd District contains all of Adams, Allen, DeKalb, Huntington, Jay, Lagrange, Noble, Steuben, Wells, and Whitley counties, as well as parts of Blackford and Kosciusko counties.
