Rep. Ami Bera urged Congress today to work to find a bipartisan budget agreement. After signing onto a resolution asking Speaker Boehner to appoint budget conferees, Bera made a speech on the house floor about Congress' responsibility to pass a budget.
"One of my first acts in Congress was to sponsor the No Budget, No Pay Act," said Bera. "We now have a budget that the House has passed, we have a different budget that Senate's passed, and the President submitted his budget. It is now time for us to go to conference. Mr. Speaker, I ask you to appoint conferees so we can get a real budget and start moving this country forward."
