Neugebauer Disappointed in President's Budget Proposal

Statement

Date: April 10, 2013
Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Randy Neugebauer (R-TX) released the following statement in response to President Obama's budget today:

"I was disappointed that the President's budget was so out of touch with the opinions I hear from my constituents in West Texas every day. They're worried about the future of our country, and they don't want to see us continue to spend ourselves into bankruptcy. So it's frustrating that the President is proposing to add $8.2 trillion in new debt. And despite taking $1.1 trillion in new taxes, his budget never balances, which means he would allow America to continue digging into further debt. That might allow him to do what's popular now, but it's not a responsible plan for the future and it's not a good way to govern. I voted for a plan that would balance the budget in ten years, promote job creation, and increase opportunities for Americans."
