Preserving the right to keep and bear arms

Statement

Despite the efforts of Republican Senators, Democrats on the Judiciary Committee today approved a bill banning almost 160 so-called "assault weapons." Safeguarding our Second Amendment rights is of paramount importance, and I oppose this restriction, as well as any others, that inhibit a law-abiding citizen's ability to protect themselves, their families, or respond to public threats. I want to assure my constituents and fellow Georgians that I will continue fighting to preserve our constitutional right to keep and bear arms.
