Rep. Rohrabacher Condemns Lack of U.S. Response to Murder of MeK Refugees

Statement

Date: Feb. 12, 2013
Location: Washington, DC

Today, Congressman Dana Rohrabacher (R-CA) expressed his outrage in a letter to Ambassador Daniel Fried, the U.S. State Department's Special Advisor on Ashraf, regarding the rocket attack over the weekend that left six members of the Mujahideen-e Khalq (MeK) dead and over 40 wounded. The MeK refugees have been displaced from their long term residence in Camp Ashraf to Camp Liberty, where the latest attack was carried out.

Rep. Rohrabacher condemned the American lack of response to the murder of these people, "We put the MeK in this position, we forced them to go to Camp Liberty from Camp Ashraf, where they are now being murdered and our government isn't fixing responsibility on the Iraqi government as it should. We took them out of a more secure area and put them in a less secure area. We sent them into harm's way and we haven't stepped up to do our duty."
