U.S. Senator Mary L. Landrieu, D-La., today released the following statement on Lockheed Martin's announcement that it will build liquefied natural gas storage tanks at the Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans. The investment is expected to create hundreds of new jobs at Michoud, helping to revitalize the facility.
"Today's announcement shows that Lockheed Martin recognizes the great potential of the natural gas industry, as well as Louisiana's highly qualified and skilled workers," Sen. Landrieu said. "Our abundant natural gas reserves are a game-changer for our economic and energy security, and Louisiana has a pivotal role to play in developing and transporting this resource."
