Representative LaMalfa Comments on President's Failure to Release a Budget

Statement

Date: Feb. 4, 2013
Location: Washington, DC

Rep. Doug LaMalfa (R-CA) today commented on the failure of the Obama administration to publicly release a budget plan by the date required by federal law. The administration has missed the budget release deadline 80% of its time in office.

"House Republicans put our money where our mouth is by passing the No Budget, No Pay Act and having our pay withheld if we fail to pass a budget on time. The President, however, has missed the legally-required date to release his budget for the fourth time in five years," said LaMalfa. "The American people deserve to know how their taxes are spent, and failing to release a budget is just one more way to obscure out of control spending."

Congressman Doug LaMalfa is a lifelong farmer representing California's First Congressional District including, Butte, Glenn, Lassen, Modoc, Nevada, Placer, Plumas, Shasta, Sierra, Siskiyou and Tehama Counties.
