Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Energy

Congresswoman Shelley Moore Capito, R.W.Va., today announced that she will again Co-Chair the Congressional Coal Caucus in the 113th Congress. Capito co-founded the Caucus in 2010 and has actively participated in the Caucus' goal of promoting commonsense policies that keep coal in our nation's energy mix.

"West Virginia is blessed to have abundant natural resources, including coal, that power our state, our nation and even the world. Coal is cheap, abundant and reliable. It supports millions of jobs, from the miner who works in the coal fields to the scientist who develops cleaner technologies, while helping to keep utility bills low. By working with the bipartisan team on the Congressional Coal Caucus, we have the opportunity to raise awareness about the benefits of coal to communities nationwide," stated Capito, who voted for the "Stop the War on Coal Act" (H.R. 3409) last Congress.
