Issue Position

Our country's traditional family values must be protected by our government. As the father of an adopted daughter, I am particularly passionate about my belief in the sanctity of life, and my votes in Washington will reflect that belief. I grew up on my parents' family farm, and I worked hard in the fields when I was young, and I worked hard after college to keep our agribusiness running well. We all worked hard because we knew we had to, as a family. I hope that I, along with my wife of 23 years, Shea, are instilling those same values in our three children. The free market allows us to work hard and be successful, but it's our family and their welfare, that motivate us to be successful. When our country loses sight of family values, we will be a nation economically lagging, too.
