Blackburn Sworn In to 113th Congress

Press Release

Date: Jan. 3, 2013
Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Marsha Blackburn (TN-7) today was sworn in to the 113th Congress. Vice-Chair of the Energy and Commerce Committee and Member of the Committee on the Budget, Congressman Blackburn said the following:

"I am looking forward to getting to work in the 113th Congress. We've got an agenda of cutting spending, reducing heavy-handed regulations, and protecting the American dream for our children and grandchildren. Each year I've had the privilege of representing Tennessee's Seventh Congressional District, I've called for across-the-board spending cuts to reduce the size and scope of the federal budget.

"My first order of business was to introduce my 1, 5, 10, and 15 percent across-the-board spending cuts. Moving forward, I'll continue my work to address Washington's out-of-control spending, get our fiscal house in order, and reduce the federal government to a manageable size."
