Ways and Means Committee Ranking Member Sander Levin (D-MI) today made the following statement regarding the December jobs report:
"Our economy is showing continued signs of strength. We must continue to follow the pattern set in the end-of-year deal and provide confidence to businesses and consumers that going forward we will address our deficit through a balanced approach of spending cuts and revenue. Republicans should not threaten to use the basic payment of our bills and the necessary increase in the debt ceiling to achieve their goals of slashing spending only."
