Rep. Richmond Responds to Resignation of U.S. Attorney Jim Letten

Today, Rep. Richmond issued the following statement in response to United States Attorney Jim Letten's resignation, announced today:

"I would like to thank Jim Letten for his nearly twelve year tenure as U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Louisiana," said Congressman Cedric Richmond. "I hope Mr. Letten's predecessor will continue to build on his legacy and accomplishments as the longest serving U.S. Attorney in the country. Moving forward, I am committed to working with the Department of Justice to address the recent allegations of misconduct."

Last month, Congressman Richmond issued a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder in response to recent news of further misconduct which resulted in the demotion of First Assistant U.S. Attorney Mann. The letter can be found here.
