Republican Leadership Stakeout on Passage of #NoBudgetNoPay

Statement

Chair McMorris Rodgers:

"Today, the House acted. The House acted to put Washington on a budget and to force a conversation about how we spend money.

"Everyone in America understands that budgets matter. This budget matters to seniors that depend upon the benefits. It matters to middle-class, hard-working taxpayers that don't want to see more of their paycheck reduced. It matters to our children and the opportunities that they're going to have dependent upon Washington living within its means.

"We acted today. It's time for the Senate to act. It is time for the Senate to pass a budget. It has been nearly four years since the Senate has even passed a budget. People all across this country understand that you have to have a budget. You have to live within your means. And it's time for Washington to do likewise."
