U.S. Sen. Saxby Chambliss, R-Ga., made the following statement after the tragic shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut:

"As a parent and grandparent, there are no words to describe my grief at the senseless loss of life at Sandy Hook Elementary School. My deepest sympathy goes out to the Newtown community, and to all of the victims, families and loved ones touched by this tragedy. I join the rest of the nation in offering my prayers to all of those affected. This is where our focus should be at this time."
