Begich Expresses Frustration With Fiscal Negotiations

Statement

Date: Dec. 30, 2012
Issues: Taxes

Sen. Mark Begich today released the following statement on the negotiations underway in the U.S. Senate to address the impending fiscal slope:

"I've been here four years and I cannot believe negotiations have reached this level of gridlock. I am fed up with the stalling. We were all sent here to do our jobs and Alaskans are tired of the blame game. They want both sides to compromise a little. We need a deal and we need it immediately. I will be working day and night, through the holiday, to provide certainty that taxes will not go up for the middle class and that benefits will not decrease for our seniors."
