Issue Position: Creating and Retaining Jobs

Issue Position

Date: Jan. 1, 2013

Marc believes that the Legislature needs to focus on increasing economic opportunities and job creation. He wants to update our infrastructure to support the economic growth of tomorrow; reduce nuisance lawsuits against small businesses; build on California's strengths by fostering innovation and technology; and spread economic benefits to every corner of California and the North Bay. Efforts to foster job growth and business creation should be part of an overall plan to increase economic opportunities in California. For example, the state's higher education and transportion policies should be aligned with strategies for economic growth. At the local level, Marc has been part of successful efforts to retain businesses, including successful efforts to keep BioMarin, a major biotech company, from moving out of the North Bay.
