Statement

Issues: Oil and Gas Trade

U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) issued the following statement on the release of a new study commissioned by the Energy Department on the effect of exporting liquefied natural gas: "I am pleased that the Department of Energy's new report on natural gas exports confirms what I've long believed: the more we produce our abundant natural energy resources, the better for our nation. The report concludes that under all scenarios the study reviewed, America would benefit from increasing our oil and gas exports. Allowing foreign customers to buy our natural gas will encourage more development in Oklahoma and across the country, which will create jobs, lower unemployment, and grow the economy. And with Oklahoma's natural gas resources and crucial expertise in the industry, we stand to gain substantially."
