Van Hollen, Mikulski, Cardin Lead Maryland Delegation in Requesting Major Disaster Declaration for State Of Maryland Following Super-Storm Sandy

Press Release

Today Maryland Congressman Chris Van Hollen issued the following statement on Senate passage of the bipartisan Whistleblower Protection Enhancement Act of 2012, which will now head to the President's desk to be signed into law:

"I applaud the Senate passage of the bipartisan Whistleblower Protection Enhancement Act of 2012 and urge President Obama to sign the legislation into law without delay. Whistleblowers risk their careers to challenge abuse and waste of government resources, and this bill will protect them. By providing new protections for government whistleblowers, we will better serve the taxpayers' best interests, increase accountability, and take an important step toward curbing waste, fraud, and abuse."
