Pete Sessions Statement on October Jobs Report

Statement

Date: Nov. 2, 2012
Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Congressman Pete Sessions (R-Dallas), a Member of House Republican Leadership, today released the following statement in response to the Department of Labor's October unemployment report:

"Although our nation's economic growth is far too slow and our unemployment rate is far too high, President Obama believes we should continue the same failed policies and raise taxes on American families and small businesses. Unfortunately, after four years of spending, taxing and red tape, more than 20 million Americans are still looking for work and our national debt has surpassed a record $16 trillion.

"The American people deserve better than chronic high unemployment and a government that makes it more difficult for small businesses to expand and hire new workers. House Republicans have acted on a pro-growth plan to empower the free enterprise system and restore confidence in our economy. It's time for Senate Democrats and President Obama to join us in our efforts to reenergize our economy and get Americans back to work."
