Sires Announces $10 Million Department of Transportation Dollars Post Hurricane Sandy

Today, Congressman Sires announced that the U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Highway Administration is awarding the state of New Jersey $10 million dollars in emergency relief funding to reconstruct highways and roads that were impacted by Hurricane Sandy, which reached New Jersey on October 29, 2012. Sires stated:

"After the devastating impact that Hurricane Sandy has had in our state, I am pleased and grateful that the federal government has stepped in quickly to provide emergency monetary relief. We must begin to rebuild and repair our roads and highways in a smarter way. More planning must be done so that we are prepared for the next natural disaster.

"New Jersey was hit the hardest by this severe hurricane. These federal funds will allow us to make repairs to our highways and roads, and bring our state back to normalcy."
