Neil Hansen understands the enormous effect of growth on our transportation systems and believes in addressing state infrastructure needs through careful planning and development. It is important to seek a balanced, efficient transportation system that does the following: maximizes the use of taxpayer dollars; enhances public safety; takes into account the effect of the transportation system on neighborhoods, open spaces, and wildlife; allows us to achieve high air quality standards; promotes biking and pedestrian friendly access; and meets critical highway demand while also building convenient, accessible public transportation. Neil pledges to work to bring more state and federal money to House District 9 for expansion and better maintenance of our roads as he has done in his past legislative experience, evidenced by the following projects:

* 12th Street From the I-15 to Harrison Blvd. (4 miles of concrete and street widening. Completed in 2010)
* 30th and 31st Street total reconstruction From Harrison Blvd. to midland drive in Roy.
* I-15 reconstruction from Riverdale rd. to 2700 north in north Ogden. Wall Avenue from 36th street to 12th street.
* Named the Ogden Canyon state road 39 to the Gunn McKay Highway. From Harrison Blvd. to the David O McKay and the Gunn McKay home in Huntsville.

Neil collaborated in the bi-partisan effort to bring to pass these joint transportation projects while serving on the House of Representatives Transportation Sub-Appropriations Committee.

Neil Hansen supports the extension of mass transit systems, including the Frontrunner, other commuter rail, and bus rapid transit to connect with systems in other counties along the Wasatch Front. He strongly encourages the use of fuel-efficient, low polluting vehicles and alternative fuels whenever possible. With the idea of connecting Legacy Highway at 3500 West, Neil would like to get your input and opinion about how this issue might impact your lifestyle.
