Issue Position

I was a member of AFSCME while employed with Woodbury County and support the right of workers to bargain collectively. Providing a living wage to workers is not a burden on business. It should be a goal that we all seek. Don't we want all Iowans to have sufficient income to raise their families and support the local economy? Public contracts should require prevailing wage to reflect local wage conditions. Workers injured on the job should have the ability to choose their own doctors. As your representative, I will work to improve health insurance quality and reduce health insurance costs so health care is more accessible and affordable for all workers and their children.
