Issue Position

MY LEGISLATIVE GOALS have always focused on rural issues. My aim is to improve the quality of life in smaller communities and make rural living productive and sustainable. In order to do that, I have had to go beyond water, agriculture, forestry and ranching issues. I've had to expand my knowledge about economic development, education, property, taxes, healthcare and health insurance, veterans, public safety, family laws and transportation.

Providing New Mexico with authority to obtain $170 million in federal funds for healthcare for the indigent (2012) through a sole-source community provider bill.
