I will work to pass a bonding bill to support infrastructure
Many aspects of a productive economy -- and a safe and enjoyable life -- are unfortunately not highly visible and are far from our thoughts as we go about day-to-day living. Today our public utilities -- water, sewage and power systems -- and our transportation system are decades old and decaying. A massive bridge failure, water-main breaks and the disintegration of our state highways are just a few examples. Paying for repair or replacement of these systems is expensive, but necessary, and putting off these tasks would be penny wise, but pound foolish. Interest rates are at an all-time low. A substantive bonding bill would more than pay for itself in infrastructure improvement and stimulate the economy.
