Our nation's health care financing and insurance systems are in need of major reform. The heavily-regulated, third-party system that is the product of bureaucracy has not and never will be a viable option for making health care available to all U.S. citizens. Instead, we need a system that centers on the patient, providing consumers with choices in a true-to-form free market, and giving individuals and families control over how health care funds are spent, such as the expansion of Health Savings Accounts for the benefit of all patients.

In addition, I will fight to limit the effect Obamacare will have on Kansans. In order to accomplish this, we must push our Governor and Attorney General toward taking a public stance against the President's detrimental legislation. This past spring, The Kansas Health Care Freedom Amendment, brought before the State House and Senate, was defeated. Kansas representatives, if truly representing the needs and desires of the people, should not defeat a bill that seeks to provide Kansas residents with the ability to choose their own health care despite federal mandates. As an elected official for the state of Kansas, I will support this type of legislation in order to give individuals their inalienable freedom to choose. I will work to create ways to reduce the cost of health care and make it easier and more affordable for all.
