Hoeven: Romney Energy Independence Plan a Path to Jobs, a Vibrant Economy and a Brighter Future for America

Senator John Hoeven today issued the following statement in response to Gov. Mitt Romney's Energy Independence plan for America:

"Governor Mitt Romney's true all-of-the-above Energy Independence plan blazes a path to jobs, a vibrant economy and a brighter future for America. By empowering states to regulate their own resources with good environmental stewardship and promoting development of all of our resources, his plan will unleash the enormous energy potential not only of the United States, but of all North America.

"More than a decade ago, we in North Dakota worked to forge a pro-growth business climate that encouraged private-sector investment and the development of innovative technologies in all of our major industries, including energy. Today, we are producing more energy with better technology and better environmental stewardship; we also have the lowest unemployment rate and the fastest growing economy in the nation.

"Governor Romney's Energy Independence plan will create jobs, grow our economy and make energy more affordable for middle-class families and businesses. At the same time, it will make our nation safer and more energy secure. It's the right plan for America."
