At a time when education is more important than ever, it is easy to see the decline of the programs and facilities in our island schools. A personal example: my daughter Abby, although just a kindergartner, absolutely loved French class and even participated in the after school French Club. This early exposure to languages is essential. In first grade she had neither French class NOR French Club. When less than an hour away there is an entire population that speaks both French and English fluently, this is an extreme disservice to our young people. I would support legislation to keep more of OUR tax dollars in OUR district to support OUR schools.
