Immigration is a federal issue and needs a federal solution. We must secure the border by enforcing the laws that are already on the books in order to solve our illegal immigration problem while not allowing amnesty for those already here.

On the flip side, we should do this while also working to attract the best and brightest minds in the world to learn and work in the United States. As a member of Congress, I would support Rep. Jeff Flake's (AZ-R) STAMP Act, which would give a green card to any legal foreign student who graduates college with an engineering, math or science degree. This legislation will provide an incentive to keep jobs at home instead of sending them to our competitors overseas.
