Issue Position

Minnesota has suffered under a cuts-only approach to resolve the state's budget problems. For too long we have witnessed one budget gimmick after another, forcing communities to raise property taxes at record levels, disproportionately harming working and middle class home owners. Instead of the shift, shaft, and spin procedures of the past decade, we need to provide honest solutions that are fair and transparent. I will work toward a budget that develops our long-term needs and does not take out a loan on our children's future.

As your State Representative, I will work to:

* Control costs at the state level.
* Provide opportunities for shared services.
* Make sure government spending is effective and provides a fair return.
* Provide property tax relief to our struggling communities, businesses, and homeowners.
