Issue Position: Pennsylvania's Seniors

Issue Position

Date: Jan. 1, 2012

As a former owner and operator of an assissted living facility, Kimbery understands the issues that seniors (and their families) face. She knows that across the Commonweath, many of our neighbors and relatives rely on state and federal programs to make ends meet. Kimberly strongly opposes any effort to cut PACE and PACENET and believes we must ensure the solvency of these programs for the next generation without affecting benefit levels for current recipients. She also supports protecting the property owner's/renter tax rebate program for seniors. Kimberly also supports the following:

Empower home caregivers. With the proper support, more seniors can continue to be active in their own communities and to be healthy in their own homes.
Pushing for tougher laws to crack down on financial crimes against seniors. Scam artists who defraud vulnerable seniors need to be brought to justice.
Assisting seniors obtain birth certificates in prepratation of the new Voter ID laws put into place.
