Congressman Rubén Hinojosa (D-TX-15) announced a grant for $20,703 was awarded to the City of Pharr Police Department by the U.S. Department of Justice through the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program (JAG).
"This grant award from the U.S. Department of Justice is the result of a collaborative effort that ultimately will support law enforcement initiatives at the Pharr Police Department," said U.S. Rep. Hinojosa. "I congratulate everyone who worked together to obtain this important JAG grant that will certainly help the Pharr community."
The JAG funding will be used to purchase law enforcement equipment and supplies for the Pharr Police Department.
The Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program (JAG) allows states and units of local government, including tribes, to support a broad range of activities to prevent and control crime based on their own state and local needs and conditions.
