Kucinich Asks Political Campaigns to Respect Private Space

Congressman Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) today wrote to the Chairs of both the Republican and the Democratic National Committees asking them to "immediately make clear to all campaigns that it is unacceptable that campaigns "track' people at their homes or otherwise invade a candidate's personal space."

Kucinich wrote to Chairs Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Reince Priebus after reports that campaigns had engaged "trackers" to surreptitiously follow candidates and put video of the candidates' homes on the internet.

"Current Members of Congress know too well the risks associated with having every move tracked -- but to one's family home? In addition to putting individuals and family members at risk, such a practice is certain to overwhelm already strained safety forces in local communities," wrote Kucinich.

"I hope we can all agree that no candidate should have to give up the right to his or her safety at home or the safety of family."
