Statement on June Jobs Report

Statement

Date: July 6, 2012

A statement on the Labor Department's June jobs numbers from Brooks Wicker, the Republican nominee for US House of Representatives from Kentucky's Third District, follows:

"For a third straight month, the Labor Department released disappointing job numbers. While unemployment remains at 8.2%, underemployment is at 14.8%. The looming implementation of ObamaCare will only make things worse.

Clearly the policies championed by our incumbent representative are not working and are, in fact, producing economic stagnation. The economy has been in decline since 2006, when Democrats took control of the House and of the Senate. That is also when my opponent was first elected as well. A coincidence? I don't think so."
