Owens Responds to More Than 17,000 Constituent Concerns, Secures More Than $2.3 Million for New Yorkers So Far in 2012

In the first six months of 2012, Congressman Bill Owens worked to secure $2,359,561.88 in benefits and tax breaks owed to those seeking help from his offices in New York's 23rd Congressional District. When constituent concerns involved questions about legislation or policy, Owens' office has responded to more than 17,000 pieces of correspondence in 2012 alone.

"Responding to constituent concerns and helping them to navigate the federal bureaucracy is one of the most important things I can do," said Owens. "I am very pleased with the level of success we have seen in our ongoing fight to ensure that New Yorkers have their voices heard in Washington and that they receive the benefits and tax breaks they are due from the federal government."

Since being elected to office in November of 2009, Owens has responded to 83,023 pieces of correspondence and secured more than $5,396,605.47 in due benefits for constituents.
