Another point of interest of great importance is our environment. We need to work towards preserving energy in as many ways as possible. First, we must teach our youth the importance of recycling, using recycled cotton bags when shopping, unplugging unused electronics, and switching off lights when leaving a room. If we fail to do this, our children will not only be accustomed to wasting resources, but also will be left to clean up our mess. I am a very active supporter of the clean water action. Michigan is known for its beautiful Great Lakes by which it is surrounded. This action helps keep those lakes clean and preserves them. We need to stop polluting our water. Even if you believe that today's chances are lost in this regard, we must work towards this at least for tomorrow, and the future. Our children and grandchildren should not have to worry about water unsafe to drink, or air unclean to breathe. This action helps Michigan preserve its natural beauty, thus bringing tourism to the state, and also in turn helping to re-build our economy.
