Issue Position: National Security

Issue Position

There is no greater oath an elected official can take than when he swears to "support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies." That defense can come in many forms but the most relevant to the Congress is to ensure our Armed Forces remain the premier fighting force the world has ever seen.

As a career Army Officer with 24 years in the United States Army Reserve there will be no better advocate for our women in uniform than I will be. We can never return to the days of a hollow force where the Congress forced our military to just "make do." As Ronald Reagan proved, peace through strength is one of the most effective preemptive strategies for protecting the national security interests of the United States at home and abroad.

Our military must be prepared to combat both unconventional and conventional threats against any country that threatens America's interests.

The Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines in uniform today are the best and the brightest and our first line of defense. As your Congressman I will fight to make sure our armed forces have all the tools required to keep our great nation safe and secure.
