As we come together in celebration of our independence we are humbled by the extraordinary sacrifices Americans have made across the last three centuries. All we have today -- our freedom, opportunity, and prosperity -- is a gift from those who came before us and we are entrusted with their legacy of sacrifice, vision, and service for the common good.
Today we must be committed to these same principles, put aside ideological differences to balance our many priorities, and work for the common good. We remain a country more unified then divided, but it's up to us to prove that point every day, truly.
We wish everyone the happiest and healthiest July 4th holiday and may God bless you and our extraordinary country.
