Our environment makes Seattle one of the most beautiful places to live. As someone who was raised on 10 acres of land in Southwest Washington and served on the board of the King County Conservation Voters, Noel understands this.

It is not only important to protect our environment in order to preserve our quality of life, but also it is critical to our children's future. We must work hard to ensure a healthier, more sustainable community for all of Washington's kids.

Carbon emissions: By placing a firm cap on carbon emissions and creating more energy efficiency goals, we can move toward a cleaner, greener future, as well as grow the number of clean energy jobs in our state, through retrofitting of private, commercial and government property.

Toxic-Free Kids Act: Children's health is important to our community and we can protect it -- and our environment -- by requiring manufacturers of consumer products to use safer, non-toxic alternatives.

Transit: Future development must take climate change into consideration. Funding regional transit options, such as Light Rail, and working to reduce our dependence on single occupancy vehicles, are important investments we can make to reduce greenhouse gases in our community.

We can do this by working to limit carbon emissions, funding regional transit such as light rail, and putting in place policies that require manufacturers of consumer products -- children's toys in particular -- to use safer, non-toxic alternatives.
