Senator Joe Lieberman (I-CT) today released the following statement in response to the Senate defeat of S.J.Res. 37, a resolution of disapproval concerning the EPA's Mercury and Air Toxics rule:
"The Senate helped defend our environment today by rejecting the measure that would have rolled back common-sense requirements for power plants to install readily available technology to keep mercury and other dangerous toxins out of the air we breathe. With this vote we have kept the promise we made to the American people over 20 years ago, when we passed the 1990 Clean Air Act Amendments that I am so proud to have helped negotiate."
