Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler (MO-4) has issued the following statement regarding the change of command she attended today at Whiteman Air Force Base:

"I congratulate Brigadier General Scott Vander Hamm, who has served as Commander of Whiteman Air Force Base, on a job well done. He oversaw operations of the 509th Bomb Wing with precision, pride, and perfection during a time of war for our country. I wish him well as he embarks on a new leadership opportunity at Randolph AFB. I want to welcome Brigadier General Thomas Bussiere, the new Commander at Whiteman AFB. This is General Bussiere's fourth assignment at Whiteman, which already makes him part of Team Whiteman. I congratulate him on his new appointment and look forward to working with him as he continues the vital mission of protecting our nation."

Congresswoman Hartzler, whose district includes Whiteman Air Force Base, serves on the House Armed Services Committee.
