Udall Congratulates Denver-Based Camp Moreno on $15,000 Grant Award

Press Release

Date: June 6, 2012

Mark Udall congratulated the Camp Moreno Project on its receipt of a $15,000 grant from the National Parks Foundation. Camp Moreno, a Denver-based organization, will use the funds to continue its mission of connecting inner city youth and their families with the country's national parks.

"Our national parks are some of the best places to connect kids with nature and to teach them about our unique culture and history," Udall said. "As a guide with Outward Bound, I had the honor of introducing youth to the outdoors throughout Colorado. This grant will help other Colorado youth have similar outdoor experiences that will lead to a lifetime of enjoyment of the outdoors."

The $15,000 grant is part of the National Parks Foundation's American's Best Idea program, which connects diverse, underserved and under-engaged populations throughout the United States with their national parks.
