Issue Position: Creating Good Jobs Here

Issue Position

Date: Jan. 1, 2012

We have a lingering jobs crisis. Without sustaining jobs people lack the resources and confidence they need to contribute to the economic recovery.

Innovators, small businesses and entrepreneurs are the catalysts of job creation. We need to identify, facilitate, nurture and support such activity, not impede it.

And critical to this, our tax system needs to be simplified and revamped to encourage this activity.

A strong and efficient transportation and energy infrastructure is a requirement for business and communities to grow synergistically.

Most would agree that roads, bridges and rail systems that make large-scale economic growth possible must be updated. Making these upgrades will create good jobs in the short term and long term.

Support for clean energy alternatives are critical to job creation, economic growth, conservation and environmental sustainability.
