Encourage Development of All Forms of Energy

America's energy policies should not be held captive to radical environmental policies that inflate the threat from climate change. A high-growth economy depends on the availability of cost-effective energy in all of its forms. Therefore, we should remove legal and bureaucratic obstacles to oil and natural gas development, both on-shore and off-shore. Further, we should phase out government subsidies for green technologies that are not commercially viable, and put a portion of those savings into funding basic energy research. We should also explore federal revenue sharing options to encourage energy development in a manner that will reduce tax burdens in local jurisdictions. Finally, we should approve and finish construction of the Keystone Pipeline as soon as possible.
